We recently undertook a family trip to Birdlings Flat, which is about 30-40 minutes from Christchurch towards Akaroa. Spending the afternoon on this rocky beach was a great way to escape an early winter chill, on a sunny day. A few days later, we had the first of what is predicted to be several snow dumps for Canterbury and Christchurch over the next few weeks.

Naturally, where we go, so to does the camera, and associated paraphernalia. We have intentionally rendered some of the snow-scapes from that snow dump in monochrome (black & white) as we feel that these actually work better in that format, rather than full colour.
